Aboot

Hello! Welcome to Rhymes With Steve. You have stumbled across a quaint little detour on the Web that you probably found via a random search engine query (it’s okay, I don’t advertise the site or anything). As you’ve probably already noticed, the website has to do with fellow named Steve. That’s me! (*waves*).

Yes, my name is Steve. I’m an 18-year-old Torontonian (that means I live in Toronto, Ontario) who is currently studying journalism at Ryerson University in, you guessed it, downtown Toronto. This site is a hobby of mine I started in late October, 2007. I like playing around with HTML, CSS, PHP, and other acronyms and seeing it turn into something cool

I use the site to combine that hobby with other interests of mine. Although the majority of content stems from blogging, I pursue other interests here. The thing about RWS is that it doesn’t really have one specific purpose; it’s ever-changing. But its ultimate mandate is about self-expression. To me, as a journalist, it’s a place for me to be subjective.

Again, the heart of the site is basically the blog section, I won’t deny it. It’s where I can post random thoughts, rants, odd experiences, movie reviews, assignments I do in school that I want to share, stories and other creative writing, etc.

I love comments so please do write something. Criticism and other points of view are the things that keep the world in check, and it’s no different here. If you think I’m wrong, POST IT! Even if it’s an old blog entry, Wordpress (the blog platform I use to maintain the section) alerts me to any new comment. That said, all submitted comments are held in a kind of online escrow until I confirm them. That’s only because I don’t allow disrespectful comments. I’ve only disallowed four or five so far aside from the obvious many my SPAM filter picks up.

I’ve always been awful at these description pages but I think I got my point across. If you have any questions or comments that wouldn’t otherwise fit in the comments section of a blog entry, email me at: webmaster@rhymeswithsteve.com. (Don’t include the period at the end.)
